Police Rescue 10 Kidnap victims in Zamfara

Police Tactical Operatives in collaboration with the Military have rescued ten persons including a one year old baby kidnapped by bandits at Gada District in Bungudu Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

The rescued victims were among unspecified number of people abducted by the bandits when they invaded the community yesterday and killed five persons including the District Head of the area, Umaru Bawan Allah.

A statement issued by the Zamfara State Police Command’s Public Relations officer, Shehu Muhammad says the joint tactical team with the support of a vigilante group was able to disperse the hoodlums and rescue the kinap victims unhurt.

The Statement says normalcy has been restored to the area with improved confidence patrol.

In the meantime, the Police tactical operatives have succeeded in arresting a twenty year old infamous bandit, Sani Mati who had been allegedly terrorizing Communities in Birnin-Magaji, Shinkafi and Zurmi Local Government Areas of Zamfara State.

He was arrested while trying to block a road in the areas with the intent to kidnap innocent commuters.

Exhibits recovered from the suspect include one Ak-47 rifle, double magazines with three rounds of live ammunitions and a boxer motorcycle as he confessed to the crime.
