House to investigate NYSCs refusal to reopen camp in Maiduguri

The House of Representatives has resolved to investigate the National Youth Service Corp over its alleged refusal to reopen the permanent orientation camp in maiduguri, Borno State.
This is sequel to a motion from representative Usman Zanna in which he pointed out that the NYSC orientation camp in Maiduguri has been shut down for more than ten years due to insecurity and its usage as an internally displaced Persons camp.
House members noted that the Borno State government has recently evacuated the IDPs and informed the management of the Corp on this development to facilitate reopening of the camp.
The House therefore wants to know why the camp is yet to reopen despite arrangements put in place to ensure safety of Corp members posted to Borno.
The NYSC has since the beginning of the insurgency been conducting orientation in katsina state for Corp members posted to Borno State.
