Ekiti State Assembly holds public hearing on 2022 Appropriation bill

Ekiti State House of Assembly has conducted a public hearing on the 2022 Appropriation bill, during which stakeholders present described the exercise as a way of putting proper check to the 2022 budget.

The Chairman, House Committee on Finance and Appropriation, Mrs Olubunmi Adelugba in her remarks, applauded ministries, department and agencies of government for their cooperation during the 2022 budget defense, also commended the Executive Government of the state, Dr. Kayode Fayemi for introducing an all inclusive budget preparation and implementation.

She described the public hearing as a way of making the 2022 appropriation bill open to all stakeholders for inputs and having access to it’s implementation.

Some of the participants which included the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, led by Hon Femi Ajayi, described the exercise as novel which clearly indicated that the entire budget process was transparent for all to see.

The Commissioner for Finance who was represented by his Permanent Secretary, also assured of the ministry’s commitment to ensure proper implementation of the 2022 budget when passed into law.

The D.G, Board of Internal revenue, in his contribution, expressed the board readiness to facilitating more revenue for the state towards ensuring the 2022 budget is funded.

Other participants present at the hearing included the Ministries of Education, Health, Civil Coalition Societies and Labour unions.
