MINISTER OF ENVIRONMENT INTERFACE WITH OGONI LAND COMMUNITIES

MINISTER OF STATE ENVIRONMENT, SHARON EKEAZOR SAYS THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT WILL INCREASE CLOSE INTERFACE WITH MEMBERS OF COMMUNITIES IN OGONI LAND WHERE REMEDIATION PROJECTS ARE GOING ON.

THE INTERFACE, SHE SAYS, WILL GIVE GOVERNMENT BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF THE IMMEDIATE NEEDS AND CONCERNS OF THE PEOPLE.

THIS IS TO ADDRESS THE ENVIRONMENTAL POLLUTION AND AT THE SAME TIME IMPROVE ON THE LIVELIHOOD SUPPORT PROGRAMMES IN OGONI LAND.

AT A MEETING WITH THE MANAGEMENT AND STAFF OF THE OGONI CLEAN UP COORDINATING OFFICE, THE HYDROCARBON POLLUTION REMEDIATION PROJECT, HYPREP, THE MINISTER INSISTS THAT THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT IS RESOLVED TO SUCCESSFULLY CLEAN UP OGONI LAND, PROVIDE LIVELIHOOD SUPPORT AND PORTABLE WATER IN ALL AFFECTED COMMUNITIES.
