Rail attack: Nigerian railway corporation suspends services along the Abuja- Kadunda Corridor

The Nigerian railway corporation has temporarily suspended train services along the Abuja- Kadunda Corridor, following an attack on a section of the track. 


In a statement, the corporation acknowledged the ugly incident which was caused by an explosion which affected the fuel tank of the last train from Abuja to Kaduna around 8 in the evening.

The statement further explained that the situation has been brought under control by a relieved Locomotive that rescued the train to Rigasa Station in Kaduna State while the affected locomotive has been sent to the workshop for assessment and repairs.

No casualties or injuries to passengers or crew was however reported.

The Nigerian Railway corporation however apologized for any inconvenience as efforts are on to restore services as soon as possible.
