Zamfara State House of Assembly has Suspended two of its Members for their alledged involvement in the acts of banditry
The affected lawmakers are Yusuf Muhammad and Ibrahim Tudu representing Anka and Bakura Constituencies respectively.
Their suspension followed a motion moved by the Member of the State Assembly representing Maru Constituency, Yusuf Alhassan Kanoma under matters of urgent public importance which was uninimously supported by other Members at the plenary.
Kanoma drew the attention of the House to a confidential report which purportedly indicted the suspended members.
After thorough deliberation on the matter, Speaker of the House, Nasiru Mu’azu Magarya adopted the suspension of the embattled members for a period of three months to allow for discreet investigation in to the allegations leveled against them.
The suspended lawmakers did not however attend the plenary, and effort to get their response on the matter was unsuccessful.
