The OPEC Secretary General Mohammad Sanusi Barkindo underscored the timeliness of Gastech, stressing that the platform provides an opportunity to address key issues and concerns related to the industry following a difficult period caused by the COVD-19 pandemic.
Barkindo said this the ongoing Gastech2021 Ministerial panel, in United Arab Emirate with the theme Achieving Net Zero: Driving the Energy Transition,
The forum also featured Energy Ministers of the UAE, Indonesia, Turkey and Qatar.
The OPEC Secretary General shared his insights on the importance of oil and gas in the future energy mix.
He says OPEC supports an energy transition that draws on the strengths of all energy forms, including oil and gas, which are projected to continue to supply more than half the world’s energy needs in 2045, with oil at 28% natural gas at 24%.
