Ekiti former Deputy Governor, Eleka advocates change in political ideas for development

The Former Deputy Governor in Ekiti State Professor Kolapo Eleka has advocates change in the political system that would give room for people who have genuine love and concern to develop the state and makes it rank high among comity of states.

Professor Eleka gave the indication at a symposium organized by the People Democratic Party, PDP Peace Movement,held in Ado Ekiti,the Ekiti State capital.

The Programme which had in attendance members of the party from the Sixteen Local government areas of the state has its theme “The development of Ekiti past, present and the way forward.

It was a gathering of members and stalwarts of the PDP from the 16 local government areas of the state who converged to be part of the programme,an initiative of the PDP peace movement with Focus on the development of Ekiti past, future and the way forward.

The former Deputy Governor Prof.Eleka said it’s time to regain the glory of Ekiti affirming that its political system must change by allowing those who have the love of the at heart.

He recalled the state of Education in the state when was the former Deputy Governor, and how the bar was raised saying with collective efforts such standard will be sustained

Aside the race for the 2022 Governorship election is fast approaching, Professor Eleka called for peace and unity among PDP family to achieve expected results.

Professor Eleka, who was Fayose’s deputy between 2014 and 2018, said he has no grudge against his boss for supporting the ambition of Ekiti PDP chairman, Bisi Kolawole for the 2022 governorship saying such would not scare him from taking a shot at the coveted seat, adding that he has all it takes to secure the party’s ticket and win the poll.

Speaking on the zoning, professor Eleka, who is from Ekiti South, said the people must be fair in 2022, saying the zone has not governed the state since the advent of democracy in 1999.

He expressed optimism that the internal crises within the party would soon be resolved.

Issues relating to the political and economic development of the Ekiti where in focus ,as the different speakers including
Prof.Alabi Popoola,Kolapo Olaleye Chief Femi Ogundipe went down the memory lane, the political and economic strength of Ekiti from the old western region to the old Ondo state, affirming that Ekiti should not be allowed to be relegated to the background.

They said there is need to look back and right the wrongs and project better future for the Economy development of the state in various facets.

The state coordinator of the PDP peace movement initiative, Mr.Femi Ayeni said the peace and unity among the PDP family is paramount,which is the dream of the peace movement.

Other members of the party called for genuine internal democracy within the PDP family to collectively achieve success.
