House of Representatives tasks FG to secure release of Tegina pupils

The House of Representatives has urged the federal government to secure the release of the 136 abducted pupils from a school in Tegina, Rafi local government area of Niger State.
The issue which came under matters of urgent importance was raised by the Niger state caucus at the House of Representatives.
The lawmakers suggested the deployment of drones and helicopters to identify criminals hideouts in addition to developing a mechanism that would ensure synergy amongst security agencies especially on intelligence sharing for timely response to security breaches.
The House urged the inspector general of police and other security agencies to comprehensively re-jig the security architecture in Niger state in view of the frequent attacks by bandits.
Plenary also adopted a resolution on the need to investigate recent attacks in parts of Benue state which left scores dead and property destroyed as moved by representative Godday Samuel
