The Speaker of Ekiti State Assembly, Rt Hon Funminiyi Afuye has reiterated the commitment of the 6th assembly to the making of quality laws that will better the lots of Ekiti people as the house clocks two years in office.
This statement was made in a release signed by the Special Adviser to the Speaker on media, Akogun Tai Oguntayo in commemoration of the second anniversary of the sixth assembly.
The Speaker disclosed that the State Assembly has passed into law a total number of 42 bills which touch on the wellbeing of the masses since its inauguration on June 6, 2019.
He expressed satisfaction with the performances of every member of the Assembly and appreciated them for their cooperation since their assumption of office. He noted that the members of 6th Assembly are a pride and delight to work with.
Afuye who also thanked the Governor of the State, Dr. John Kayode Fayemi, for his cooperation, maintained that “there is mutual respect between the executive and the legislative arms of government”
The speaker enjoined Ekiti people to continue to support the government as it strives to bring dividends of democracy to their door steps.
He further disclosed that the Fayemi-led administration is trying his best despite the meltdown of the Nigerian economy.
