ASUU gets Executive members

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has elected a new president, Emmanuel Osodeke of the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Abia,to pilot the affairs of the union for the next two years.

He was elected on Sunday during the national delegate conference of the union which also produced a consultant psychiatrist and associate professor at the College of Medicine, University of Jos, Chris Piwuna, as his deputy

The delegate conference also produced Siji Sowande as treasurer, Ade Adejumo as financial secretary; Austen Sado as investment secretary, Adamu Babayo as an internal auditor, while Stella-Maris Okey was elected the welfare secretary.

Osodeke’s emergence follows the end of the tenure of Biodun Ogunyemi, the former president, after four years in the saddle.
