CHAMPIONS OF THE PROF. AKIN OYEBODE U-15 FOOTBALL COMPETITION EMERGE: ADO LFC U-15 WINS THE BOYS CATEGORY AS GOLDEN FC CLAIMS GIRLS CATEGORY TROPHY.

Curtains were drawn on the
Prof. Akin Oyebode U-15 Football Competition for boys and girls in Ekiti State as Ado LFC-U15 boys team and Golden Football Club also from Ado Ekiti emerged the champions of the competition

The finals decided at the Ikole township stadium, Ikole Ekiti, the home town of the celebrated icon,was another fun-filled moment and confirmation of the fulfilment of the mission and vision of the present Board of the state Football Association at transforming the football Ecosystem of the state.

The goal scored by Peter Abiodun of the Ado KFC team in the early five minutes of play against the Irepodun Ifelodun U-15 side handed the boys the winner of the coveted trophy of the boys category.

Golden FC three goals over their opponent, gave the Ado Ekiti team advantage over Lions gate FC to lift the girls category trophy at the competition which made it all Ado Ekiti winning affairs.

Fatoba Queens Feeders of Ado Ekiti had a 3-2 win over Osetoba Babes from Emure Ekiti to picked the third position in the female category as Gbonyin U-15 pipped Efon U-15 to the boys bronze medals after a 1-0 victory.

To the state Football Association chairman,Bayo Olanlege,it is a dream come through and an indication of that the state is blessed with raw talents in the game of soccer ready to be unearth to be future champions.

The grand finale was graced by members of the Prof. Akin Oyebode family led by the Honorable Commissioner for Finance and Economic Development in Ekiti State, Hon. Akintunde Oyebode, the Hon. Commissioner for Health and Humanitarian Services, Dr. Oyebanji Filani, Coach of the National U-17 Female team (the Flamingoes), Coach Bankole Olowookere, Media Officer of the Super Falcons of Nigeria, Mrs. Oluchi Tobe-Chukwu, scouts from Iganmu FC, Lagos, top journalists from across Nigeria and football administrators within and outside Ekiti State.

Presentation of Certificates of Participation, Individual Awards of excellence to outstanding players in the boys and girls category and trophies to champions were highlights of the grand finale.
