House approves 257.1 billion for Customs

The House of Representatives has approved a budget of 257.1 billion naira for the Nigeria Customs Service for the year 2021.

Also approved by the House as contained in the report of the House Committee on Customs is a projected revenue of 1.6 trillion naira for the same year, more than one hundred billion naira higher than the collections of 2020.

Other approval for the NCS is the urgent procurement of four scanners to enhance clearance at the nations ports.
Similarly, the House has approved the sum of 216.6 billion naira as 2021 budget for the Federal Inland Revenue Service, as recommended by the House Committee on Finance.

The House at plenary Thursday approved Federal Government’s external loan request of 1.5billion dollars and 995 million Euros to finance priority projects.
