Ekiti State University Lifts Ban On Unions’ Activities,orders resumption of academic activities.

The Authorities of Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti has lifted ban placed on activities of the Institution’s four staff unions (ASUU, SSANU, NAAT and NASU) in the campus.

A statement by the Information and Corporate Affairs Officer, Mr Bode Olofinmuagunalso states that the institution’s management has also ordered that normal academic activities should resume and therefore advised the EKSU students to return to the campus and continue their academic activities.

The Governing Council of the institution had last week Friday shut.

The University was last week shut following continued protests and tension, ocassioned by the Four unions on the campus as the Governing council also proscribed the four Unions and suspended academic activities in the university.

According to the statement the decision to reopen the school followed series of pleas and interventions from well meaning individuals, Corporate bodies as well as EKSU Alumni, which made the council to lift the ban on the unions activities.
