Nigeria has expressed great concerns over evolving developments in Chad following the dead of Idriss Deby.
In a statement The Minister of Foreign Affairs Geoffrey Onyeama said the interim leadership of Chad and all stakeholders, including the two armed groups still fighting
must not allow the country to feed into more chaos with its attendant
Nigeria calls for urgent consideration of dialogue among all the stakeholders saying it is willing to guide and mainstream, within the framework of the Economic Community of Central African States, ECOWAS and the African Union for an early return to democratic governance in Chad.
Onyeama added that such stabilisation move in Chad will ensure peace not in only in Chad but other regions of the Sahel.
