Athletics medal winners from various states of the Federation in the ongoing 2020 National Sports Festival in Edo state have been presented their medals.
Ekiti state representatives in various games were not left out of the medal haul as Tunde Adewole who won the first gold for Ekiti state was among the medal recipients at the samuel Ogbemudia stadium in Benin.
Also presented with her bronze medal was Jumoke Oribamise who came third in female pole vault.
More medals were won by the state representatives on Monday as Sunday Oshamika won bronze in gymnastics while Debose Folusho won silver in another gymnastics event.
In chess, there are hopes of winning at least a medal on the final day of the sports fiesta as both the female and male teams are in still contention while the state may also win another medal in golf today
In boxing, Ekiti born female boxer, Tobi Alade will today contest for gold in the final of the 60kg female boxing as she faces her counterpart from Ogun state in the final.
As the national sports festival ends tomorrow, Wednesday, Delta state leads the medals table while the host state, Edo is second on the log and Bayelsa and Lagos State are among the top four states.
Ekiti state falls among the top 25 states out of the 36 states of the federation and the FCT
Ekiti state has 9 medals so far comprising 2 gold, 2 silver and 5 bronze
In the meantime, some of the athletes who have completed their games at Edo 2020 will later today depart Benin city and head back home to Ekiti state while those who are yet to complete their games as well as those who will be presented with medals later today Tuesday will wait till tomorrow before departure.
