Afuye Rejoices With Ekiti People on Easter, Seeks Prayer For End Of Covid-19

The Speaker of Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Funminiyi Afuye has rejoiced with Ekiti people on the celebration of Easter festival.

In a release by his Special Adviser on Media, Akogun Tai Oguntayo, the Speaker urged Christians to reflect on the life and times of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ who he said came to die for us sinners.

Afuye noted that “the situation in the country today calls for sober reflection considering the effects of Covid-19 pandemic and insecurity in the nation.”

He therefore urged Ekiti people to take advantage of the death and resurrection Jesus Christ to pray for the nation and her leaders at all levels that they are Christlike in all they do to lead the people.

The Speaker advised those eligible to partake in the COVID-19 vaccination being administered by the Government, saying that “the best way to reduce the deadly effects of the ravaging pandemic is by making ourselves available for vaccination because by so doing we are making our state safe.
