Unpaid Salaries,Sunshine Stars FC players of Ondo state protest

PLAYERS OF SUNSHINE STARS FOOTBALL CLUB, AKURE, ONDO STATE TODAY STAGED A PROTEST TO THE GOVERNOR’S OFFICE TO REQUEST FOE THE PAYMENT OF SEVEN MONTHS UNPAID SALARIES.
THE PROTESTERS WHO CARRIED PLACARDS CALLING ON THE STATE GOVERNOR TO ADDRESS THEIR DEMANDS AND EFFECTS PAYMENT OF THEIR ENTITLEMENT,AS THAY BLOCKED ROADS HINDERING VEHICULAR MOVEMENT AROUND THE GOVERNOR’S OFFICE.
SOME OF THE PLAYERS WHO SPOKE WITH NTA NEWS SAID THEY WERE OWED SEVEN MONTHS OF UNPAID SALARIES AND SOME BONUSES WHILE THEIR OFFICIALS WERE ALSO OWNRD OVER TEN MONTHS SALARIES.
THE PLAYERS ALSO ALLEGED THAT GOVERNMENT IS PLANING TO SELL THE CLUB WHICH THEY SAID IT NOT IN THE BEST INTEREST OF THE STATE.
DEPUTY GOVERNOR LUCKY AIYEDATIWA AFTER A CLOSED DOOR MEETING WITH THE REPRESENTAVES OF THE PROTESTERS ALLAYED THE FEAR OF ANY PLAN TO SELL THE CLUB BUT RATHER, GOVERNMENT IS WORKING OUT PARTNERSHIP WITH SPONSORS TO FURTHER PUT THE CLUB IN IT’S RIGHTFUL PLACE.
HE ASSURED THAT GOVERNMENT WILL ADDRESS THEIR DEMANDS AND PAY THEIR SALARIES, SAYING GOVERNMENT IS COMMITTED TO THEIR WELFARE
THE COACH OF THE CLUB AND THE CAPTAIN APPRECIATED THE STATE GOVERNMENT FOR LISTENING TO THEIR CRIES AND EXPRESSED THE BELIEVE THAT GOOD TIME AWAITS SUNSHINE STARS
