Ekiti East constituency one bye election, political parties sign peace accord.

The inependent National Electoral commission Ekiti State has said that every necessary arrangements for the successful conduct of the Saturday bye election to the Ekiti East constituency one.

The Resident electoral commissioner in the state Dr Adeniran Tellar gave the indication at the stakeholders meeting at Omuo Ekiti in respect of State Assembly, assuring the people that their votes would count and called for their cooperation to ensure violent free bye election.
He said the various ad-hock staff for the conduct of the election have been trained to while Non-sensitive materials have been deposited at the Local Government Area Office and the Registration Area Centres ahead of the election.
Various stakeholders at the meeting enjoined lNEC to remain unbiased umpire,while they pledged their support towards the success of the election.
The Five political parties taking part at the bye election have however signed peace accord to abide by the outcome of the exercise as
Representatives and candidates of the parties, AA, APC, APGA, PDP and YPP endorsed the documents.
In their short remarks, the state NYSC coordinator, Mrs Chikezie Nenna, IPAC Chairman, Mr Ifedayo Adedayo and the NOA state Director, Mr BANKOLE fadahunsi urged people of the constituency to shun thuggery and be peaceful throughout the period of the exercise.
The bye election at Ekiti East constituency one is occasioned by the death of Mr.
Juwa Adegbuyi who represented the Constituency in tne state House of Assembly.
