EKITI POLICE COMMAND, CELEBRATE AIG ASUQUO IN GRAND STYLE

It was an atmosphere full of encomium and joy during a special sendoff party organized in honour of the former commissioner of police, Ekiti State Command Amba Asuquo who was recently promoted to the rank of an Assitant Inspector General of Police, AIG

The ceremony held at the AB Hotel, Olora, Adebayo Ado Ekiti was held in compliance with all precautions outlined for the prevention of COVID-19.

Security, stakeholders, captain of industries, heads of sister agencies as well as well wishers showered encomium on the new AIG for his dexterity, diligence and hard work while serving as the Commissioner of Police in Ekiti State.

The speakers one after the other attested to the fact that Asuquo brought about positive changes to the operation of the Ekiti State Police Command and recorded outstanding successes in the fight against crimes and criminality.

According to them,Mr Asuquo was patriotic and uncompromiseable irrespective of any gratification noting that he would be greatly missed for his selfless services.

Ekiti State Governor Dr Kayode Fayemi represented by his Deputy, Chief Bisi Egbeyemi acknowledged the giant strides of the new AIG at combating crimes in the State saying the state was secured and peaceful under his watch.

Governor Fayemi called on security agents in Nigeria to always display Professionalism and desist from actions that could mar the image of their organizations.

The Chairman, Ekiti State Council of Traditional Rulers, Oba Ajibade Alabi said that the new AIG combined professionalism with dexterity in efforts to ensure peace across the state.

Oba Alabi who maintained that Ekiti people appreciated his short stay and contributions in ensuring a stable society, called on government at levels to always give necessary assistance to security agencies in order to meet the current security challenges

Chairman Police Community Relations Committee PCRC in the State, Pastor Sunday Makinde and the Special Assistant to the Governor on Security Retired Brigadier General Ebenezer also spoke glowingly about the AIG and urged him to keep the good deeds for which he is known for.

Highlights of the ceremony was the presentation of gifts to the celebrant as the police band entertained the gathering.

Responding, AIG Amba Asuquo thanked God for the successes recorded and appreciated officers of the command for the support and cooperation.

He also acknowledged the support of the governor of the state and other government officials adding that his successor is also a diligent officer whom he said he could attest to his zeal and professionalism.
