The Wife of Ekiti state governor, Erelu Bisi Fayemi has again condemned rape and other domestic violence which is now on the increase in the society
Erelu Fayemi who expressed the indignation during a programme organized by a group, Bisi Adeleye Fayemi Crusaders , BAF, to commemorate her 57th birthday anniversary in Ado-Ekiti, stressed that whoever is caught in the act of raping will not go unpunished.
“There’s a law guiding against rape in this state. Anyone who molests our children due to poverty, or rape them will be severely dealt with by the law, Ekiti must be free from rapists’.she stated.
She urged men not to maltreatment their wives while the wives should also respect their husbands.
Speaking on the Coronavirus pandemic, Erelu Fayemi admonished that nobody should think the disease is over and people should avoid spreading it, adding that there is need for caution as it is real and the society is not free yet.
She advised that, the use of face mask, hand washing, social distancing and other aspects of personal hygiene should not be discarded, noting that easing of lockdown is not a license for partying and running around.
Erelu Bisi Fayemi revealed what she called priceless lessons she learnt from her mother, saying that first of such lessons is humility, taking responsibility and having due respect for elders, counselling that being humble and respectful for elders make one’s life great and fulfilling.
