EKITI RECEIVES #631 MILLION NAIRA DONATION TO BATTLE COVID19, RECORDS 4 NEW CASES

Ekiti State Government has explained that it has received Six hundred and Thirty one Million (631 Million)Naira From Five hundred and Thirty-Five Contributors to the State Coffers to Fight the COVID19 Pandemic.

The donors include Aare Afe Babalola who donated 100 Million Naira, and others.
Government appointees who had their Salaries slashed have also contributed 40 Million Naira to the State to Fight the Pandemic

The Relief Committee chaired By Aare Afe Babalola which also includes,Former Governors Ayo Fayose and Segun Oni are said to be the ones Managing the Money sent to the COVID19 Account in Ekiti State, and not the Ekiti State government

Revealing this at the COVID-19 briefing at the Governor’s office Ekiti State, the Coordinator COVID19 Task Force, Prof. Bolaji Aluko noted that the money has been received and will be judiciously utilized for the good of Ekiti Citizens.

At the Briefing, the Commisoner for Health said that Four New COVID19 Cases have been recorded in the State. The new cases were those who came into the State during the Lockdown from Katsina, Lagos and Oyo State. Some of these people were discovered via whistleblower efforts who alerted the Taskforce of their arrival into the state.

The Commisoner for Environment in the State, Gbenga Agbeyo berated the actions of security Personnel who arrests people before the 8pm Curfew time within the State, adding that there will be an extensive Dialogue with Security operatives to allow people to move on non-Lockdown days before 8pm.
