Ekiti State government has commenced the distribution of food items to over twenty thousand Aged, Widows and Vulnerable persons in the state as part of measures to cushion the effect of the stay-at-home order by Governor Kayode Fayemi.
Governor Kayode Fayemi who made this known during the flag off of the State’s food bank in Ado Ekiti explained that the identified Vulnerables had registered with the Ekiti State Ministry of Finance.
Governor Fayemi explained that the gesture was devoid of political colouration, warned those saddled to carry out the distribution against diverting the food items.
He said government would not hesitate to severely sanction anyone caught working against its plans and Programmes to make life bearable for the public.
According to him, government would soon distribute stipend to those whose means of livelihood had been affected.
Governor Fayemi also announced that the dawn to dusk curfew imposed on the state to check the spread of Coronavirus would be relaxed on Tuesday and Thursday between six o’clock in the morning and two o’clock in the afternoon for the people to be able to stock foods in the house.
Governor Fayemi who appreciated Well-meaning individuals and Corporate Organizations, urged the people to join hands in making Ekiti and Nigeria free of various diseases in the country.
